Thanks for visiting my blog! My name is Aline, I am Swiss, and currently studying Japanese and staying in Kyoto for a language exchange. This in my first venture into the world of blogging and I am excited to launch this personal project. Osusume means recommendations in Japanese, and this is what this blog is all about!
How it started
This personal project grew out of the wish to show my experiences in Japan to friends and family by documenting my impressions of Japan on film.
What began as a personal project soon developed into the idea of starting a broader-themed blog about recommendations in Kyoto and other places.
It is an accumulation of all my experiences during the six months I lived in Japan. Wherever I went, I kept asking locals, my teachers, and host family for their osusume – on where to visit, what to eat, and which places to avoid at certain times.
This is a place to consult if you are looking for recommendations about Kyoto or cities to visit when planning your trip. Please enjoy reading and hopefully get inspired for your next trip or language exchange!
